Not only is it hard to know what to say and do for a grieving mother, usually it’s really difficult to ask for help when we are grieving. In the immediate aftermath, our brains can’t even wrap around what we may need to help us. How could we possibly know?
Time passes, and we learn what would have helped us – what may STILL help us, but we feel like the time has passed for asking for help.
So, this is a list that you can share with friends and family if they ask you what they can do to help.
Or, if you’re here because you want to help someone who is grieving, you’ve got an idea of things to do.
This is not an all encompassing list. And all things on the list may not apply to ALL people.
What I can tell you is that doing SOMETHING is better than doing NOTHING.
Please share if you have ideas to add to the list.
